Alloy Wheel Repair and Restoration Derby
Diamond Cut Alloy Wheels
Diamond cut alloy wheel repair and restoration is at the core of our business here at Diamond Alloys Derby. We really pride ourselves in what we specialise in, and that’s restoring and repairing alloy wheels. We are confident that you are in the right place if you are looking to repair and refurbish your diamond cut alloy wheels.
There are many businesses offering diamond cutting solutions, but it’s often not their specialty, it certainly is ours. We have well over 30 years of experience with diamond cutting alloys alone. We operate highly advanced CNC Diamond Cutting lathes that create a unique polished finish to alloy wheels which simply cannot be matched by a mobile company.
The process of diamond cut alloy wheel repair is to remove an extremely thin layer from the surface of the alloy. This can only be done a limited number of times to each wheel before too much material has been removed. If your wheels get to that point then we would recommend choosing a powder coating finish going forwards.
Our CNC Diamond Cutting lathes remove material from the entire face of the wheel giving your alloy wheels an outstanding finish! This is then sealed in with a lacquer to ensure longevity.
Firstly we will assess your alloy wheel to see what level of work it requires. If the wheels aren’t damaged, the chances are the thin layer of lacquer has failed. This is when it starts to peel away from the wheel and allows water to get behind and start to corrode the wheel. We would strip back the wheel, powder coat it and then diamond cut the face and give it a new layer of lacquer.
It can be difficult to determine this without an expert’s eye and touch. We have diamond cut so many wheels over the years we can very quickly assess the wheel and get to the answer. Bring your wheel(s) to our workshop in Derby and we will happily look at what work needs to be done.
Yes indeed! You are in the right place. We often have to redo unsatisfactory diamond cutting work undertaken by others. Diamond cutting is a very specialised service that should only be taken on by true professionals. The right experience and the correct equipment for the job are essential. This comes down to the level of refurbishment your alloy wheel requires. Typically we can fully complete a set of diamond cut alloy wheels to be refurbished within 3 days. However this can range from same day turnaround for light work to up to 1 week for heavy restoration.
We will inspect the alloy wheel and see how much work it requires. The alloy wheel may require welding as a filler and then we smooth this down ready for the next process or refurbishment.
That’s completely down to you, but we think so. We work on many fleet cars and hire cars too, which need last minute repairs before returning the vehicle. It may simply be irritating you that your perfect alloy wheels have a mild curb rash on them.
Yes of course! We can offer an almost unlimited range of colours with multiple finishes. We powder coat each wheel to your desired colour(s).
Yes, we repair at least 2 sets of steel wheels every week. Often these are from classic cars, campervans and motorhomes.
Indeed you can. However we ask that you arrange a courier if possible. We can arrange this but cannot give an accurate quote for delivery. This will be to and from our location in Derby.
